to Combat Hangman !
The
Fun starts here !
Combat Hangman is a game for two players and is
suitable for ages 7 – 10. You can also use the grids provided to play the
traditional version of Hangman.
What to do now:
Simple ! Print off this page once, print one copy of the next page for each person playing. Take a moment to read this page and that’s it! You’re ready to play!
Getting Ready:
Each player will need a pen to write with and one of the
sheets of paper that you have just printed off.
How to play:
Each player thinks of a word and writes it down in the space
marked “your word goes here”
Then you both say how many letters there are in your word.
Draw a small line for each letter in your opponent’s word –
so if your opponent has thought of a five letter word, you would draw five
small lines like this:
Your opponent’s word goes here: _ _ _
_ _
Then take turns to call out letters, trying to find the ones
that appear in your opponents word.
If you call out a letter is called which appears in your
opponent’s word then your opponent must say which line it fits onto and your
write it down.
If you call out a letter that is not in your opponent’s
word, you should put a cross through the first hangman image (the empty
gallows) on the page. It’s a good idea
to write the letter down beside the image. Each time you call out a letter that
isn’t in your opponent’s word, you cross out another image.
If you cross out all your images then you’ve lost and it’s
time for another game!
