Mapperton Gardens

It's not too far to drive from Lyme Regis to this secret valley garden beside one of Dorset's finest manor houses. There's an italianate walled garden and fountain court, topiary, grottoes, fishponds, statuary, orangery, dovecote and more. Mapperton Gardens is set in an ancient wooded landscape of hills and hedgerows.

Trinity Hill Nature Reserve

A nature reserve on the border of the parishes of Uplyme and Axminster, (close to Lyme Regis). See their web site for full details.

The Donkey Sanctuary (near Sidmouth). (Registered Charity Number 264818)

Not far from Lyme Regis is the Donkey Sanctuary. The Donkey Sanctuary's aim is to prevent the suffering of donkeys in the UK and Ireland through the provision of high quality professional advice, training and support on donkey welfare and by providing permanent sanctuary to any donkey in need of refuge.
