"Soar high above the cliffs of West Dorset for the very best views around"

For the more adventurous and those with a good head for heights, paragliding makes a great holiday activity. Paragliding is now a decade old and still rapidly developing. Major advances have been made both safety and performance over the past few years. Modern paragliders can now soar effortlessly for hours and hours on hills, cliffs and mountains. The more adventurous and experienced pilots can climb thousands of feet in thermals and fly many miles cross country. The British record is currently 175Km and the World record is over 300Km !!

A view of one of our training sites. There is a paragliding school locally called Flying Frenzy which offers tandem flights (when you go up strapped to an instructor), "taster" days and full paragliding courses. Flying Frenzy uses the hills and coastal sites of West Dorset from from their base at Chideock, between Lyme Regis and Bridport on the A35. Flying Frenzy have a variety of sites facing all directions of the compass which are used under license, so you won't be siting on the hill while hoards of experienced pilots catch the breeze in front of you. All are within an easy walk of the car (15 mins max).

Flying Frenzy have hills, both big (600 ft) and small (50 ft). Most of the training is done on the small ones, this provides a huge advantage to the student. If you can soar a small hill, the BIG ONES are easy,  It also ensures plenty of practice at the more demanding aspects of taking off and landing.

You can get more details from the Flying Frenzy Web Site or email them or telephone 01300 321552.
