Swimming in the sea:
The sea around Lyme Regis is popular for swimming, paddling and games during the summer months but only the hardiest try it out of season - it's very cold indeed! During most summers an area just east of the Cobb is marked out for swimming and there are areas of beach which are definitely not suitable for swimming so if in you are in doubt it's worth erring on the side of caution.
Swimming Pools:
The nearest public pool is ten minutes away at Axminster. It is a new complex with modern facilities including a hydro-therapy pool. The swimming pool schedule varies through the year and is affected by things like school holidays and so on. Nonetheless there are early birds sessions, adults only sessions, ladies only sessions, fun sessions, "pool madness" sessions and plenty more. To find out more about opening times and when the various sessions are running, telephone them direct on (01297) 35800.
